Alton’s expertise has been featured in numerous interviews for magazines, radio, newspaper, and TV, including The Rachael Ray Show, People Magazine, Family Circle, Women's Home Journal, Every Day with Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart Radio, 1010 WINS, NBC, ABC, PIX, FOX, CW 11, NY1 and the Wendy Williams Show.

Alton has been an online sensation with his wildly entertaining series of “Gift Wrap Rap” videos, including starring in “The Paper Rapper” sponsored by Daily Candy Video, which he also wrote and produced.

Additionally, Alton has appeared on HGTV's Small Spaces, Big Style for his unique eclecticism with home décor, and his apartment was featured in Apartment Therapy's coffee table book Real Homes, Real People, and Real Design Solutions. In 2009, Alton was the keynote speaker at the Chicago House and Home Show, presented by Pantone, discussing the use of paper in window-dressing and home décor.

In 2008, Alton received national recognition when he was crowned the Scotch Brand’s “Most Gifted Wrapper.” During this annual national gift-wrapping contest, he was tasked with the challenge of wrapping several odd-shaped gifts, including—as the finale—a baby grand piano. As the winner, Alton was featured on Good Morning America and the Bonnie Hunt Show (where he gift-wrapped a producer), among many other national and local media outlets. As Brand Ambassador for Scotch 3M, Alton to garner press for the brand on TV and in publications such as Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, and on Rachel Ray.

In his former role as Director of Creative Services for Kate’s Paperie (2007–2010), Alton revitalized the iconic New York City paper emporium, putting the Kate’s brand back on the map. By focusing his creative energy on the world of paper, Alton gained national recognition by sharing simple yet elegant ways to explore paper crafts. Depending on the seasonal occasion, Alton was tapped to demonstrate the latest trends in gift wrapping, holiday décor, wedding invitations, letter writing, and more.

Alton’s design credentials encompass the fields of fashion, luxury brand merchandising, window installations, and graphic arts. Some of his clients include Patricia Field, Asprey, the Gucci Group, and Dior, creating visual design and stylings in New York, Miami, and Beverly Hills. Further, Alton is an accomplished Set Designer, doing shows at New York Fashion Week including Adam, Lutz and Patmos, and Monique Lhuillier.

Originally from the small Texas town of Splendora, Alton has been involved with the arts all his life and received a BFA in Art from the University of Texas. His diverse artistic interests span from fashion to the circus arts to fine photography. He is also currently working on Letters from Lucky, a book that chronicles 18 years worth of letters from a mentor to his protégé on the importance of art and creative living.
